For the first time In 150 years, the people of Lyon can admire the gilt statue of the Virgin Mary at the Fourvière basilica close up.
She will stand on the square in front of the basilica for six months while the steeple undergoes necessary restoration work. The statue will be placed back on its base In the last week of November and Inaugurated on 8th December.
